This month, we'll be learning from my friend Brendon Williams, an accomplished composer, orchestrator, and music producer whose work can be heard across some of the BIGGEST franchises in the video game industry! His list of credits is honestly mind-blowing, including titles like Call of Duty: WWII, Destiny 2, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, Overwatch, Fortnite, and Star Wars Outlaws. Needless to say, Brendon brings a wealth of experience writing music for AAA games!
And here's something especially cool: Brendon's work extends well beyond traditional game scoring! He's also an accomplished music producer and songwriter who has collaborated with artists including Porter Robinson, AURORA, Ecca Vandal, Vo Williams, and Boslen. His ability to blend orchestral writing with modern production techniques and diverse musical influences makes him an incredibly versatile composer, and that's something we can ALL aspire to!
For this month's masterclass, Brendon will be taking us behind the scenes of cues he composed for a AAA game! He'll walk us through an actual DAW session featuring combat music produced entirely in the box, sharing how he organizes his projects, builds his templates, and approaches arrangement and virtual orchestration.
I actually had the pleasure of hearing Brendon present at GameSoundCon just last month, and his music and presentations were super detailed and informative! I definetly learned a thing or two, and ff this masterclass is anything like those presentations (and I think it will be!), we're in for a real treat! And to top it all off, Brendon is a genuinely kind, humble, down-to-earth guy who's an absolute pleasure to be around!
